Pilar Guzmán, the former editor-in-chief of Condé Nast Traveler, and husband Chris Mitchell, the chief business officer for Condé Nast’s culture collection, were the last owners of the property.
A boxy modern just 1 mile north of East Hampton village has found a buyer and is currently pending a sale. Most recently asking $2.9 million, the property went on the market in June of 2017 for $4.45 million and steadily dropped its price in the year and a half since.
The town permitted a 900-square-foot addition adjacent to the kitchen which is not considered to be historically significant. There are no restrictions on what the new owners could make that space into.
Though it may not be everyone’s style, the unique master‘s ensuite has a Dutch door that leads outside—which we think we might love—but we wish there were more photos available of the rest of the bathroom.
Built in 1740, the timber-frame home retains some incredible features from the original construction, including the Rumfood cooking fireplace in the dining room.
