UPDATED: Mapping the Landmark Signs of the Hamptons

View as Map

The more the merrier, so we thought it best to update our map of the most iconic signs in the Hamptons. From our original post:

Signs help to anchor ourselves in a place and a time. From the Lobster Inn sign welcoming us to the East End, to the Sag Harbor Cinema neon representing the village, to the Breakers in Montauk reminding us of a time when motels advertised in-room TVs, we love the iconic signs of the Hamptons. If we forgot your favorite, let us know in the comments.

Not the oldest sign on our list, but must be one of the prettiest.

Possibly the most beautiful sign in the Hamptons.

The beautiful art deco sign caused ructions when the newest owner of the cinema removed it. Now it is protected as a landmark.

The eatery was allowed to keep its iconic sign under Sagaponack's new sign law, but we miss the "Steaks" and "Moussaka" signs that had to be removed.

You know summer and relaxation time is here when you see the Main Beach sign again.
