Celebrating the wonderful planet that humans inhabit can be done in a number of ways—people sometimes vow to buy more organic produce, buy locally to support farmers in the area, get into a more strict habit of recycling, or even just spend more time outside.

OK, technically Shade Trees Nursery isn’t in the Hamptons, but it’s located close enough that you can go there for the plants that you want to put in the garden of your Hamptons home. The nursery is actually a wholesaler, but there’s also a retail garden center.

The nursery is on 130 acres of land, with container trees and shrubs, field-grown evergreens, and specimens.

Lynch’s might just be the most popular nursery in Southampton. As of 2015 the garden center went under new ownership, but it’s still maintaining the same family-owned integrity. Lynch’s has been servicing the East End for over 80 years.

Warren’s Nursery, Inc.

Warren’s actually has four farms in total, with over 500 acres between them. The nursery is one of the largest specimen nurseries in the Hamptons, offering landscape design, construction, and maintenance.

Marders in Bridgehampton offers many services, which is particularly good for the gardening newbie.

There’s the garden shop and retail shop for those who know what they want, but there are also options to hire landscape designers, property caretakers, or someone to do the flower gardening for you.
