The newly-built oceanfront house at 611 Dune Road in Westhampton listed for sale in October and found a buyer after just one month on the market. Originally asking $6,599,000, the beach house has just closed for above ask at $6.7 million.
Built in 2015, the house first became available for sale three years ago for $24 million, but has been on and off the market since then. The $17.9 million asking price is about 75 percent of the original listing.
After the existing house was completed, it arrived on the market for $3.5 million in 2014. Over the next four years, "the Cube" would see multiple changes in price, eventually cutting the price down to $1,995,000.
The downside? As with many Dune Road homes, it isn’t the most private, despite the acreage. The nearby homes look like they’re in close proximity in the listing photos—but the long driveway definitely helps.
We’re thinking that the small, quarter-acre property is the reason that this Dune Road home is asking just $3.7 million. You almost never see a price that low for an oceanfront home in the Hamptons—especially when the house isn’t a teardown.
The contemporary-style home has spiral staircases outside, spiral staircases inside, an indoor pool with a funky ceiling, curvy beamed ceilings in the kitchen, chrome cabinets, and a double-height sunroom.
At 750 square feet, it’s the largest unit at the complex and it’s one of only four units directly on the ocean. The condo has just one bedroom, but the listing claims that it can be converted back to the original two-bedroom layout.
