This beautifully renovated waterfront house on Shelter Island has just come on the market for $5.3 million.

Inside 4,900 square feet, the four-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath house has indoor-outdoor entertaining spaces, hardwood floors throughout, an open floorplan, a fireplace in the living room, and beautiful French doors that lead outside. There’s also a butler’s pantry off the large kitchen, a covered sun porch, and radiant heated floors in the master bathroom.

Exterior features include a heated pool, 200 feet of bulkheaded water frontage on West Neck Harbor, and a 1.5-car garage with a guest cottage. The cottage offers two bedrooms, beamed vaulted ceilings, and an open floorplan.

Located at 15 Montclair Avenue, the house is about a 4-mile drive from the South Ferry Station to Sag Harbor. Corcoran Group agent Michael Brennan represents the listing.

The property was last purchased in 2007 for $2.9 million. Since then, it’s been totally renovated. Considering the size of the house and the fact that it’s waterfront, the price doesn’t seem too bad—but the downside is that it’s only on a half-acre of land. Because of this, we’re guessing that the price will have to come down just a bit before finding a buyer. But what are your thoughts? Tell us in the comments.
