Montauk is all about being just steps from the ocean at any given time, and it looks like the new owners of this compact Ditch Plains beach house will be exactly that after purchasing the property for $1,095,000.

The house went on the market about a year ago for $1,295,000 and cut its price several times since. It was listed for $1.15 million when a contract was signed in October, according to the Zillow price history.

Sited on 0.42 acres of land, the renovated home has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, hardwood floors, an open floorplan, and vaulted ceilings in 1,000 square feet of living space. Accessed by a private entrance, the finished lower level includes a den with a wet bar.

Listing agent JT Thomas from Halstead Real Estate told Curbed that the sellers had the house since the ’60s and recently renovated the entire structure. He commented that the “young new owners have been coming to Ditch for years renting, and this house was the perfect fit for their family.”

Located at 57 Seaside Avenue, the property is less than a 10-minute walk from the ocean at Ditch Plains beach and a mile and a half away from village shops and restaurants.
