On Monday, we had readers try to guess the asking price of this Amagansett Dunes beach cottage just steps from the ocean. Listed at $1,835,000, about 40 percent of our readers were correct in guessing that it was asking somewhere between $1.5 million and $2 million.

Built in 1980, the house spans 1,500 square feet in size on 0.17 acres of land. Inside, there are three bedrooms (plus a sleeping loft), two bathrooms, wood-beamed ceilings and a brick fireplace in the living room, a recently renovated kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and sliding glass doors that lead outside to two dining and lounging decks.

There isn’t a pool, but the listing claims that the compact property has space for one.

Located at 48 Leeton Road, the property is just 500 feet from the ocean at the end of Atlantic Drive. The home is just a 10-minute drive from Montauk, and about the same distance from Amagansett’s Main Street shops and restaurants.

Sotheby’s International Realty agent Susan Schmidgall represents the listing.
