Built in 2010, a massive mansion on Dune Road in Quogue has just come on the market for $19.9 million.
Spanning an incredible 14,014 square feet in size with nine bedrooms and 14 bathrooms, the relatively new shingled traditional—dubbed “Sand Castle”—is on 3.25 acres of land. There are ocean views and the listing describes the property as having access to the ocean, but it doesn’t look like the property has a private ocean beach to itself.
Another downside? It’s located directly next to a parking lot.
Interiors include a gourmet chef’s kitchen, a master suite with his and hers bathrooms and closets, a home gym with a bathroom, a double-height entry foyer, hardwood floors throughout, and multiple balconies that look out to the ocean. Meanwhile, a heated gunite pool with a retractable cover, an outdoor kitchen, and an all-weather tennis court can all be found outside. New owners will also have deeded docking rights on the bay side of Dune Road.
The home is gorgeous and the interiors are well-kept and up-to-date, but the fact that the property is directly next to a parking lot and there isn’t a completely private ocean beach might make this a hard sell for nearly $20 million.
According to the Zillow price history, it was once asking a higher $24.95 million in 2014, but came off the market two years later at the same price. And according to Property Shark records, the property was purchased for $4.5 million in 2006.
