Fix up this Southampton village cottage with curb appeal, asking $1.575M

With refreshed interiors, this could be an adorable village hideaway

The shingled home at 23 Cooper Street in Southampton village has just listed for $1,575,000, and while the interiors could use some work to be brought up to date, the exterior has great curb appeal.

Standing just 1,400 square feet in size with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, this home isn’t very big, but it’s the right size for a single person, couple, or small family who want a low-maintenance East End retreat near village shops and restaurants.

In fact, the pint-sized property is a walkable one mile from Jobs Lane, or two miles from the ocean at Cryder Beach, which would make a perfect bike ride.

The interiors offer an open floorplan, high ceilings, skylights, and a wood-burning fireplace. While the kitchen will likely need a total gut, the living room already has white walls and hardwood floors, which will make it easier to update.

Unfortunately, the listing doesn’t have any photos of the bedrooms or the bathrooms—so we’re thinking those will need some updates, too.

On 0.36 acres of land, there is room for a small pool in the backyard. The exterior already features a front deck that could be used for dining or lounging.

What do you think of the price? Considering the home still needs some work, $1,575,000 seems a bit pricey for something this size. Then again, it’s in a good south-of-the-highway location. Tell us your thoughts in the comments.

The Cooper Street home is represented by Maryanne Horwath from Douglas Elliman.
