What/Where: A compact Springs cottage owned by designer Andrew Taiani.
Size: 1,564 square feet, 0.91 acres.

Typically, we don’t reveal past asking prices when we have readers guess the PriceSpotter for the week. But this designer-owned Springs retreat has gone down in asking price since it was last on the market, so we thought we’d make an exception.

Back in 2012, Andrew Taiani’s compact East Hampton cottage was listed for $1,995,000—and in its five years available for sale, the asking price didn’t change. Now, just over a year after the listing was removed, it’s back on the market for less.

In just over 1,500 square feet, there are three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms. Built in 2001, this cottage is sited on nearly an acre of gated and hedged land. Interiors include a double-height great room with a fireplace, a second-floor gallery, hardwood floors, and a functional kitchen with up-to-date stainless steel appliances.

Outside, there isn’t a pool—but there’s plenty of space for one on the 0.91-acre property. New homeowners will enjoy the lounging space and meditation gazebo.
