After four years on the market, the iconic south-of-the-highway East Hampton home at 189 Further Lane has found a buyer.

The 7,400-square-foot estate—owned by interior designer Scott Sanders and retired lawyer Peter Wilson—first arrived on the sales market in 2014 with a $21.5 million asking price. Four years and several price cuts later, the property was most recently asking $14,995,000.

Wilson purchased the property in 2002 for $4.65 million.

Sanders refers to the estate as the “ultimate beach house,” because of its proximity to the ocean and the privacy that’s afforded on a gated 3.2 acres of land with ample landscaping, hedging, lawns, and gardens.

Earlier this year, the home made headlines when the New York Times reported that Kevin Durant rented the property for 10 days in 2016 with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andre Iguodala—the Golden State Warriors’s lineup that’s now commonly referred to as the “Hamptons Five.”

The custom-built estate features five bedrooms, five full bathrooms, three half-bathrooms, curved walnut entry doors, polished stone floors, a screened-in porch, and a master suite with a sitting room and spa-like ensuite bathroom. There’s also a finished lower level, a screening room, and a catering kitchen.

New owners will particularly enjoy relaxing on an oceanview teak rooftop deck. The exterior living space offers beautiful gardens, a heated pool with a waterfall, and a poolside cabana with a gym, a summer kitchen, and a changing room.

A cedar bridge that connects the pool area to the tennis court is where Durant stood to pose for a Players’ Tribune photographer. The photo would then be used for a brief article that announced Durant’s decision to play for the Golden State Warriors.

Patricia Wadzinski and Frank Newbold from Sotheby’s International Realty represent the property.

A final sales price won’t be revealed until the future owner closes on the property. At this time, Curbed has not heard back from Sotheby’s for comment.
