When we had readers guess the asking price of this recently listed Montauk compound with water views near a private ocean beach in Montauk, the results were pretty split.
Since the property sold in 2012 for $2.15 million and the relatively new home was built just two years later, we started the guessing around $8 million—but the results in the first three categories were all quite close.
Ultimately, the category with the most votes was the correct one: The home is listed for $10.75 million under Saunders Real Estate agent, Jackie Lowey. Just 12 percent of readers thought the home was listed for over $14 million.
With 4,900 square feet between the three structures on the property, there are six bedrooms and six bathrooms in total. Four of those bedrooms and baths can be found in the main house, while the remaining two are in the property’s guest house.
Designed by architect Robert Lenahan, features of the main house include a double-height foyer, a gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances and a butler’s pantry, white oak flooring throughout, and a covered bluestone porch with two fireplaces for indoor-outdoor living. The second floor is home to the master suite and an oceanview deck.
A heated gunite pool and spa, 2,000 square feet of exterior decking, and a pool house with a half-bathroom, wet bar, and outdoor shower are all shared between the main house and the guest house.
