In 2013, Curbed wrote about the oceanfront property at 124 Beach Lane in Wainscott—one of just seven oceanfront homes in the hamlet that went up for sale with an asking price of $23.5 million. Five years later, the same home has re-listed for the same price under Saunders Real Estate agents, Michael Norbeck and Emma Clurman.
Right now, there’s a 3,000-square-foot home from 1981 with five bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms. But the listing claims that the dune-protected, 2.3-acre property—which has 300 feet of ocean frontage—can accommodate a 6,500-square-foot structure. There are no photos of the interior on the listing, so we’re guessing the home is a teardown.
It’s interesting to see that the price of the home hasn’t changed over the course of five years. When we first featured the home, commenters wrote that they thought the price was too high. What do our readers think?
