An incredibly unique modern home at 40 Sayres Path in Wainscott has just come on the market under Brown Harris Stevens agent, Martha Gundersen, for $10.9 million. Built in 2010, there’s over 9,000 square feet of living space with eight bedrooms and 10 and a half bathrooms on 2.7 acres of land sited just south of the highway, about a quarter-mile from the Wainscott Inn.

The listing claims:

The original home was created by Alfredo De Vito and was later expanded upon by Maziar Behrooz. The expansion was expertly designed to integrate a new take on the existing architectural style, and the result is a modern work of art.

Interiors include an entry foyer, vaulted ceilings and a wall of windows in the great room, a solarium that seats 14 people comfortably, a chef’s kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and pops of color throughout. The master suite offers a private balcony the overlooks the grounds, while the finished lower level has a wine cellar, wet bar, movie theater, sauna, steam room, and massage room.

New homeowners will enjoy a private pond, tennis court, exterior dining space, an infinity-edge pool with waterfall, and a greenhouse.

The current owners purchased the property back in 2008 for $3 million and listed the property for sale back in 2016 for $13.9 million. It sat on the market for a few months with the same price tag, and eventually was removed and put up for rent instead.

With the cut in price, we’re wondering if there will be any takers for this one-of-a-kind Hamptons estate.
