Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a column that explores what one can buy or rent for a certain price in the Hamptons.

Having $1 million to spend on a summer rental house would be the dream. And while it’s pretty safe to say that most people don’t have that kind of budget, the homes are seriously incredible—so we’re going to take a look at some of the priciest rental homes available this summer in the Hamptons.

8-Acre Sagaponack Oceanfront: $1.1M

Not only does this 8-acre property have 300 feet of ocean frontage, but there’s also a private pond on site and views of Sagg Pond. The main house stands 6,000 square feet with seven bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, while a carriage house features two bedrooms, one bathroom, and a gym.

Other features include three fireplaces, an oceanside pool and spa, a rooftop deck, and a three-car garage.

It’ll cost you $1.1 million from Memorial Day to Labor Day, but it’s also available for months at a time or short-term.

East Hampton Oceanfront With Pool & Tennis: $995K

Sited off Further Lane in East Hampton, this 3-acre property has an 8,250-square-foot main house with eight bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, plus five fireplaces, separate guest quarters, a chef’s kitchen, and plenty of space to entertain.

Outside, there’s an infinity edge pool and spa, pool house, Har-Tru tennis court with a covered sitting area, and a changing room with a bathroom.

The listing claims that it’s oceanfront, but it’s not exactly right on the ocean. There’s some buffer between the property and the ocean beach. But, there is private beach access and ocean views.

Elie Tahari’s Oceanfront Estate in Sagaponack: $800K

Designer Elie Tahari has listed his Sagaponack oceanfront home for a few summers in a row, and last year it actually got a tenant for the full summer season listing price of $800,000, so it could be snapped up again this year for the same rate. It also came on the sales market at the end of last year for $45 million.

Built in 1998, the 4,500-square-foot home sits on 2.5 acres of land with 250 feet of direct ocean frontage. The master suite offers ocean views and a private balcony, while another ensuite bedroom hosts a four-person steam shower.

For the whole summer, you can rent this home for $800,000, but it’s also available for shorter terms as well. For the entire year, the house will cost $1.1 million.

Meadow Lane Oceanfront Home in Southampton: $750K

This Norman Jaffe-designed home from 1986 stands 8,500 square feet with six bedrooms, six and a half bathrooms, three fireplaces, a pool, and tennis court. Interiors include a modern design, skylights throughout, balconies, and lots of natural light. The downside? It’s right next to the Cooper’s Beach parking lot and the ocean frontage is far from private.
