It may not be oceanfront, but with nearly 5 acres of land on Gardiner’s Bay in Amagansett, we’re eyeing this newly-listed north-of-the-highway property, asking $12.5 million. The shingle style home was built in 2001 and spans 6,500 square feet in size with eight bedrooms and eight bathrooms.

With an open floor plan, hardwood floors throughout, and floor-to-ceiling windows that allow natural light and water views into the space, the two-story home is a spacious retreat in the Devon Colony neighborhood of Amagansett. There are multiple living rooms, plus a chef’s kitchen and a screened-in porch.

The exterior lacks a pool, but there’s a walkway that leads down to the private 200 feet of bay frontage, plus two separate two-car garages.

Sited at 52 Bendigo Road, this waterfront abode affords a good amount of privacy while still being close to village shops and restaurants and just a quick walk or drive to the Devon Yacht Club.

Although it’s on a sizable plot, the home is a bit dated and will require a facelift, especially on the exterior. Plus, with little outdoor living space (aside from a second-level deck) we wonder if the price is going to need to come down to entice a buyer.

What do our readers think? Is $12.5 million a fair asking price for this property?
