If you love a home with great history, this Sagaponack barn could be the summer rental that you’ve been looking for. Originally built in 1740—making it 278 years old—the fully renovated home has three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms in 2,200 square feet.

Even though it’s just as old as the University of Pennsylvania—which is one of the oldest universities in the United States—living here won’t feel like you’ve been taken back in time. The home is fully equipped with a Sonos sound system and stainless steel appliances in the kitchen, but still maintains its historic integrity with hardwood floors, soaring beamed ceilings, and barn doors throughout.

There are two fireplaces inside the home and French doors can be found in each bedroom.

On nearly four acres of land sited adjacent to the Sagg Reserve, the property is perfect for enjoying the summer season with a heated gunite pool, an outdoor shower, and a shed that can be used as an office or reading room.

The downside? The home is located right on Montauk Highway. Fortunately, it’s set far back on the property and has privacy hedging. It’s about two and a half miles away from the ocean at Sagg Main Beach.

The home sold two years ago in May of 2016 for $2,325,000.

Listed under Robert Florio of Sotheby’s International Realty, the home is available for the entire summer season from Memorial Day to Labor Day for $95,000, from July to Labor Day for $75,000, from August to Labor Day for $45,000, for just the month of July for $35,000, and the month of June for $25,000.
