Today, StreetEasy announced the launch of a new web-based tool for Hamptons home-buying and renting called Out East, owned and operated by Zillow Group, Inc. Out East will be replacing Hamptons Real Estate Online (HREO) as the Hamptons-based real estate brand.

Zillow Group purchased HREO last January. The creation of Out East makes the website the first Zillow Group brand that is exclusive to the market of the East End.

Out East will still have the same data that HREO hosted, including sales and rental listings, sold listings, and open houses.

But the new tool will also feature more information relevant to the home-buying experience such as a user-friendly and updated search tool, local hot spots near the listing, and town guides curated by Hamptons locals. On any listing, the user will see the closest beaches, farmers markets, and nearby public transportation options, as well as points of interest such as nearby gyms or tennis courts.

Matt Daimler, the general manager of Out East, told Curbed:

When we set out to re-imagine HREO, we talked to real Hamptons buyers and renters to understand both priorities and frustrations with their home shopping experiences, but most importantly what made the Hamptons area a unique place to have or rent a home. It was about escaping from the city and finding a place where you could spend time with friends and family, while also being close to town, the beach, and other local activities. These insights inspired Out East to be what launched today – a truly local and customized platform for Hamptons real estate backed by modern technology to streamline their search.

Users can favorite both listings and searches to access them later, making it easier to save listings of interest and keep them in one place.

Out East isn’t just limited to the Hamptons, but also includes the North Fork, and even towns like Center Moriches, Eastport, and Flanders—making it a wide-reaching tool for all eastern Long Island buyers.
