Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a column that explores what one can buy or rent in the Hamptons for a certain price.
Today, we’re going to see what a $3 million budget will get you on Lake Montauk.
208 West Lake Drive: $3,495,000
Sited on an acre and a half of waterfront land, this 5,000-square-foot home has five bedrooms, four full bathrooms, and one half-bathroom. Interior features include water views from every room, a double-sided gas fireplace, an eat-in gourmet kitchen, vaulted ceilings in the master suite, and a finished lower level with a gym. Outside, there are terraces, a two-car garage, and a private path to the shoreline.
This home is the most expensive one featured, as well as the largest.
212 West Lake Drive: $2,650,000
Also on an acre and a half of land, this shingle style home has five bedrooms, three full bathrooms, and one half bathroom in 4,235 square feet of living space. An open floor plan, water views, custom marble, and dual ovens in the chef’s kitchen can be found inside the home, while a private shoreline and decking complete the exterior.
The home listed for sale with a $3.75 million asking price back in 2014, but has come down in price over the last four years.
108 Old West Lake Drive: $2,500,000
The least expensive—and by far the smallest—home featured here is a 1,000-square-foot cottage that sits on over an acre of land. Built in 1970, the home has three bedrooms and two full bathrooms despite being so small. Outside, there’s a private dock and decking.
The listing suggests a renovation or tearing the home down to build a totally new structure.
