The mansion at 48 Shinnecock Road in Quogue sold in December for $8.3 million, after coming on the market for $9.5 million in June of 2017. After just six months on the market, the home found a buyer and closed for relatively close to the original asking price.

Sited on Penniman Creek, the 7,440-square-foot contemporary style home built in 1983 has 288 feet of bulkheaded water frontage and a stucco exterior.

Inside, there are four bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms between two stories, as well as a fireplace in the double-height living room, floor-to-ceiling windows to maximize the water views, and sliders that lead outdoors.

Outside, there’s decking, a heated gunite pool, a spa, a private boat slip, and a full-sized tennis court on nearly three acres of land.

We love the wall of glass bricks on the first floor that amplify the natural light, as well as the winding staircase that leads to the second level. Further, the second-level master suite has a rounded wall of windows for panoramic views of the water, and sliding glass doors that bring you out to a private balcony.

The estate was represented by Diane Saatchi and Lisa Bass of Saunders Real Estate.
