Do you plan on driving, taking the Jitney, or hopping on the LIRR?

According to a report by AAA, the upcoming holiday week is going to be the worst one on record for travel, with one in three (or, 112.5 million) Americans traveling. And a vast majority of that travel will happen via car.

The report expects 102.1 million people to drive to their holiday destination, while 6.7 million people will fly and 3.7 million people will take trains, buses, and cruise ships.

New York City is the second-worst city for travel behind only Atlanta, with a delay that’s anticipated to be 3.75 times greater than average. The report expects the worst day for travel to be Thursday, December 20, peaking between 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

Keeping that in mind, we want to know how our readers get to and from the Hamptons for their holiday travel. Do you drive? Knowing that the LIE will likely be bumper-to-bumper in both directions next week, are you considering taking a Jitney or the LIRR instead? Tell us in the comments.
