If you’re considering an East End project house to fix up and renovate, this angular Montauk home on the market for $899,999 could be a viable option.

Sited north of the highway near Lake Montauk and Montauk Downs State Golf Course, the house was built back in 1988. With 1,400 square feet of living space it isn’t massive, but it’s a good size for small families or those in need of a low-maintenance Hamptons retreat.

The listing claims that it’s only been used as a vacation home by the previous owners. Directly across the street, a slightly larger 1,700-square-foot house built in 2003 on 0.46 acres of land is on the market for $999,999.

According to the Zillow price history, it was available for sale earlier this year for a higher $970,000, but the listing was removed in August. After relisting for less, do our readers think that the lower asking price will entice a buyer?
