Sag Harbor village’s L’Hommedieu house finds a buyer

The historic L’Hommedieu house at 258 Main Street in Sag Harbor has gone into contract after about five months on the market. Originally listed for $5,995,000 in May of 2018, the most recent asking price was $4.95 million with Sotheby’s International Realty agent, Christina Galesi.

In 2014, the home sold for $3.25 million after asking $3,595,000. In 2016, the home relisted for $6,995,000—but the listing was later removed.

Dating back to 1840, the brick townhouse on Captain’s Row has been totally restored by architect Samuel White. Standing 5,140 square feet in size, there are five bedrooms, three full bathrooms, and one half-bathroom inside. Other interior features include a front parlor, multiple fireplaces, wide plank floors, period details, and an eat-in kitchen.

There’s also a third-floor loft and a yoga studio on the ground floor with its own separate entrance.

Head outside for access to the heated saltwater gunite pool and a wisteria-covered pergola. The 0.38-acre property also features privacy hedging, and there permits in place for alterations to be made on both the interior and the exterior, according to the listing.
