The Shelter Island waterfront home at 29 Winthrop Road first came on the market in 2013 for $8.99 million. Now, after five years and another price cut, the Victorian style home is listed for nearly half of its original ask: $4.9 million.

The listing was removed 2016 under a $7.95 million price tag before going back up for sale in February of this year for $6.9 million. In August, $1 million came off the asking price, and earlier this week it was reduced by an additional $1 million.

Originally built in 1888, the house was “rebuilt” (according to the listing) in 2010 and now stands 9,230 square feet in size with six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms on 1.7 acres. The property includes 600 feet of water frontage on Dering Harbor, a 168-foot deep water dock, and a deeded mooring.

Inside, one will find five fireplaces, a gorgeous grand staircase, a home theater, a wine cellar, a library, and water views. Outside, there’s a pool and waterview decking.

Daniel Gale agents Samuel Marcus and Michael Tucker represent the listing.
