The renovated and modernized home at 130 Madison Street in Sag Harbor has recently come on the market for $5.8 million with Saunders Real Estate agent Diane Saatchi after selling for $2,225,000 in April of 2017.

Originally built in 1850, the gorgeous home stands just under 3,000 square feet with five bedrooms and six full bathrooms on 0.2 acres of land just a quarter-mile walk from Main Street shops and restaurants. Inside, the like-new house offers 9-inch wide plank oak hardwood floors, an open floorplan on the first level, glass doors that open to the exterior, and a second-level master suite with four paneled closets.

Outside, there’s a heated gunite pool and patio, plus professional landscaping.

Before the 19th century home last sold, it sat on the market for about three months with a $2,475,000 asking price before finding a buyer, and finally sold for a bit less. Just over a year later, the renovated home is back on the market with a 160 percent increase in price.

What do our readers think? Do you think that $5.8 million is reasonable for the listing? Do you think it will have to go down in price to entice a buyer? How long do you think it will be on the market for? Tell us in the comments.
