The Beehive Cottages at 496 Dune Road in Westhampton Beach have officially gone up for sale under Douglas Elliman agent Jean-Marc Zarka for $3.6 million.
Sited on three-quarters of an acre of land, the bayfront property has 160 feet of direct water frontage, as well as a deeded private boardwalk that leads down to the ocean beach on the opposite side of Dune Road. Boats and water sports equipment can be moored on the bay side of the property.
The double lot can accommodate a 6,000-square-foot home plus a pool and a deck, if the future owner chooses to tear down the cottages. Otherwise, if the new owner chooses to continue to host the eight cottages, the business could remain in operation.
Each cottage has between one and two bedrooms, outdoor decks and showers, and water views. The small cottages (units 2, 3, 4 and 5) are all 400 square feet. Right now, they each feature a kitchenette and barbecue outdoors. Two of them are waterfront, and the other two have water views.
Cottage No. 8 is slightly larger, with 500 square feet of space, as well as the same furnishings and an outdoor barbecue. It also boasts a private deck, situated away from the other cottages.
The largest cottage is 750 square feet and features a deck, two bedrooms, an open floor plan, and a waterfront view spanning the length of the cottage.
In 2006, the bungalows sold for $1,875,000.
