In July, Curbed featured the home at 55 Skimhampton Road in East Hampton when it went on the market for $3.34 million—a $2 million increase since it had last been sold for $1.17 million in 2014.
The home jumped in asking price after a renovation. This week, there was a 10 percent decrease in asking price, bringing the price tag down to $2,995,000. This is the first price cut that the home has seen since coming on the market post-renovation.
Built in 1960, the home has 1,800-square-feet of living space located south of the highway, with three bedrooms and three-and a-half bathrooms. On the interior, there is an open floor plan, eat-in kitchen, and wood floors. Outside, there is a bluestone patio and gunite pool.
As pointed out in the comments of our most recent article on the home, the location isn’t great. While the home is south of the highway and only 1.3 miles from Two Mile Hollow Beach, it’s located right behind Montauk Highway, away from the village.
