Summer has a mere month remaining, but it seems like the swimming season has only just started. Even though Memorial Day weekend is usually what signifies the start of summer, in reality the water is way too cold in May to swim—sometimes it’s too cold to even to put your toes in the water.

The bay beaches warm up pretty quickly, but unfortunately the ocean beaches are still cold for pretty much all of June, and finally gets perfectly warm at the end of August and into September.

That being said, we want to hear from you: What are some of your favorite places to swim in the Hamptons that aren’t at an ocean beach? Got a bay beach that you prefer? Any ponds that you’re particularly fond of? Maybe you prefer to paddle board, kayak, or water ski. Where do you do those water activities? Let us know!

Some of our favorite spots are the bay beaches in Noyac—they’re secretly fantastic for swimming. A bit rocky, but the water is warm and usually calm.
