It was asking $35M in 2016

Built in 1910, the home at 500 Captains Neck Lane in Southampton just came on the market under listing agents Molly Ferrer and Ritchey Howe of Sotheby’s International Realty for $27.9 million. But it was asking a lot more back in 2016.

In March of 2016, the waterfront property was listed for sale at $35 million, and stuck around on the market for less than a month, according to public record.

There’s 6.6 acres of land and 13,000 square feet of living space. Between the main house and the cottages, there are 11 bedrooms, 10 full bathrooms, and three half bathrooms.

While the property isn’t oceanfront, it’s located on Taylor Creek and has a dock. From the creek, there’s access to Shinnecock Bay and the ocean. The good thing about creek-front properties is that water sports are a lot easier—one could start the morning off by paddle boarding or kayaking.

The expansive kitchen and adjacent breakfast nook look to have been recently updated with quality appliances—and that center island is a great addition. The downside? The dining room wallpaper isn’t the most up-to-date.

The large master suite is also a great feature with a fireplace, sitting area, and floor-to-ceiling windows that seem to look out to the water but it’s hard to tell from the photos.
