It’s previously been available to rent

The Water Mill beach cottage at 297 Head of Pond Road that just went up for sale once belonged to Arthur Gelb, reports the New York Post.

Arthur Gelb is the former managing editor at the New York Times and had an legendary impact on the publication. He passed away in 2014 at 90 years old.

The current owner purchased the home in 2007 for $2 million and listed it for rent several times since 2015. It’s been available to rent for between $18,000 per month and $85,000 per month.

Built in 1985 and featured in the New York Times for its “architectural beauty,” the home is 2,550-square-feet on one acre of land, with five bedrooms and four bathrooms. Features include pond views, gardens, a covered bluestone patio, heated gunite pool, and a dock outside.

The home has been recently restored and updated.
