Matt Lauer, the Today Show host, just cut $2.1 million from the asking price of his Sag Harbor home for sale, reports Behind the Hedges. The 25-acre estate went up for sale about a year ago for $18 million, getting the first $1 million price cut in September.
The current asking price is $14.9 million.
Matt Lauer has been a talking point of Hamptons real estate activity recently—last summer he purchased Richard Gere’s North Haven home, affectionately known as Strongheart Manor, and recently sold his modest 1,800-square-foot Southampton cottage.
The 8,000-square-foot home—built in 2004—was designed by architect Daniel Romualdez, while the interior design was done by Muriel Brandolini. Features include six bedrooms, six full bathrooms, two half-baths, and cathedral ceilings in the great room.
The gated grounds include gardens and lawns designed by landscape architect Miranda Brooks. There are outdoor terraces and patios, secret gardens, a heated gunite pool, pool house, wet bar, and Har-Tru tennis court.
The home is listed with Susan Breitenbach of Corcoran Group Real Estate.
