Separate bedrooms may not seem like the most romantic thing in the world, but according to Vanity Fair, they’re the “ultimate status symbol.” A master suite is considered a suite for a reason—everything you need is privately tucked away inside it.
And for some, a significant other simply might not be a part of that. Or, at least until the morning coffee has been had.
Separate bedrooms don’t necessarily mean that a relationship is falling apart or that the couple can’t stand to be around each other. A second master suite is superfluous; it’s become yet another way for people to show off how much money they have.
9 Olde Towne Lane, Southampton
Curbed actually featured this home about a month ago in discussing elevators—another luxury amenity. The main house here is a whopping 15,500-square-feet with a total of eight bedrooms, nine full baths, and three half-baths. All the bedrooms are ensuite, two of which are the masters.
The second floor master bathroom has his and hers baths, which seems even more luxurious considering there are already his and hers master suites.
Two more ensuite bedrooms can be found in the guest house. The property is four acres, total. The asking price is $39.5 million.
41 Mill Pond Lane, Water Mill
Jumping down from the $39.5 million price tag, this Water Mill Home is asking $2.4 million. Built in 2014, it’s 4,000-square-feet in size with four ensuite bedrooms and five-and-a-half bathrooms on a half-acre of land.
The first floor master leads out to a bluestone terrace and pool, while the second master sits on the second floor near another ensuite bedroom. The fourth bedroom is on the finished lower level.
Listed for sale back in 2016 for just a pinch under $3 million, the home has been on and off the market a bit in the last year. It was listed for sale most recently in December with Douglas Elliman.
