The home at 152 Montauk Highway in East Hampton just came on the market with Sotheby’s International Realty for $2,995,000. But this isn’t the first time in recent history that the property has been listed or available.
At 6,700-square-feet, the six bedroom home stands at a pretty decent size. It was last sold back in August of 2005, and came on the market for rent back in April of 2014. At the time, it was listed for $150,000 a month. It was also listed for sale back in 2014 for $2.9 million.
The rental and sale prices have changed marginally since then. At one point, the rental price was as high as $180,000 per month. The current asking price is the highest that it’s been listed on the market. The rental listing has been removed and it looks like the homeowners are ready to see it sold.
Built in 1920, the home sits on a lot of land that’s just under one acre in size. The property is also gated. It’s been fully updated, and includes an open floor plan that blends a large eat-in kitchen to the family room.

The kitchen features large doors that open out into the backyard, as does the dining room and what looks to be a breakfast nook by the listing photos.

The master suite features 20-foot ceilings and an oversized master bath with a soaking tub and a glass-enclosed shower. The master suite also features large windows that cover much of the walls (similar to the living and dining areas of the home), opening the room out to the backyard.

The other five bedrooms are all also ensuite. There is an antique barn on the property and pool.
With all that this home has to offer, and being in East Hampton village, it’s hard to see what’s putting it under the $3 million mark.

An earlier version of this post stated that the home doesn’t have a pool. It does, in fact, have a pool.
