As of this weekend, the summer season officially begins on the East End. Which means we return to the the time of crowded beaches and unbearable traffic—but we also return to the summer Hamptons bustle, full of more restaurants, bars, events, and activities.

Friday, May 26

Sunset Fridays & Saturdays at the Wine Stand at Wölffer Estate

What: Experience Hamptons living at its most laid-back on Friday and Saturday evenings at our beloved Montauk Highway Outpost. Bring a blanket and enjoy wines by the glass and bottle, cheese and charcuterie plates.

Memorial Day Weekend Jump Off at Beach Bar

What: Start off the holiday weekend at Beach Bar Hamptons with DJ Doug (the classic Beach Bar DJ) and a special guest DJ appearance by DJ Unique from the Jersey Shore. Coors Light bottles are $3 before 11 p.m.

LGBT Network Hamptons Summer Kickoff at Bridgehampton Tennis & Surf Club

What: The LGBT Network will welcome the Hamptons LGBT community to raise money for the LGBT Network. All proceeds from the event are earmarked for the LGBT Network’s Hamptons Center in Sag Harbor. The Hamptons Center provides a range of life-saving and community building services that provide support, reduce isolation, and ultimately give home to LGBT youth, adults, older adults, and families.

Return of the Drift at Beach Bar

9th Annual Memorial Day Weekend Show on the Green

What: The Montauk Artists’ Association hosts the Weekend Show on the Green—a day or weekend of exploring art. Free admission. The Village Green transforms into an outdoor gallery of original and handmade art brought to Montauk from artists across America.

Monday, May 29 (Memorial Day)

Southampton Memorial Day Parade

What: Marchers will meet at the Southampton First Presbyterian Church on Main Street, proceed down Jobs Lane and finish at Agawam Park. A memorial service will follow at the park around 11 a.m. There will be an invocation and benediction by The Reverend Mark Middlekauff, and the scheduled guest speaker is Phil Keith, an awarded U.S. Navy veteran who served three tours in Vietnam.

East Hampton Memorial Day Service & Parade

What: East Hampton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 550 will host its annual Memorial Day service at 9 a.m., and a parade will follow at 10 a.m. on Main Street in the village. A memorial service featuring guest speaker State Assemblyman Fred Thiele will follow on the Village Green.
