Century-old Georgica estate back on market for almost a year, asking $18M

For $2M less than it was originally asking

The 4,800-square-foot estate at 35 Georgica Road in East Hampton has been on the market for 10 months with the asking price of $17,995,000. But this isn’t the first time the home has been on the market.

Back in December of 2015, the home was listed with an asking price of $19,900,000 under Sotheby’s International Realty. A little over six months later, the listing was removed.

Then, a month after that, the home went back on the market with almost $2 million slashed from its price tag, this time listed with Corcoran. The price hasn’t budged since.

Built in 1892, the home has four bedrooms and three bathrooms on almost seven acres of land. It was renovated by Robert A.M. Stern. There’s a legal guest cottage on the property, an all-weather tennis court, heated pool, and two-car garage.

Inside, the dark wood and beamed ceilings have been preserved, as well as the brick fireplace.

The kitchen has a large center island with tile countertops. The appliances look new, but it could use a renovation and update. There’s an openness in floor plan between the kitchen and dining spaces, which has a brick fireplace.

The living room also has a fireplace. The family room sits in a lofted area above the entry way downstairs.

The master bedroom has the same wood beam ceilings found in the living and dining spaces, along with a large sitting area. The master bath is a decent size, with a standalone soaking tub and plenty of space for vanity and dressing.

Outside, there’s a covered porch, decking which would be good for entertaining, and pool. The guest cottage has a private covered patio.
