The shingle-style home needs an update or two

A Sagaponack home just went on the market for $13,500,000 with Corcoran Group Real Estate. The home is an oceanfront beach cottage with 1,700-square-feet of living space on just about an acre of land.

The home has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Looking at the interior, it seems the home could use some updates—but the land is what’s raising the property value to be so high, so this cottage is likely a teardown.

The living room has wood beamed ceilings, and although the windows are a decent size, it still looks like the living room is pretty dark. The kitchen features wooden cabinetry and a full glass door.

The master bedroom does offer high cathedral ceilings and what looks like direct access outside, though the listing doesn’t specify where on the property the door leads.

The outdoor deck does offer a good amount of space here. Though the color isn’t much to get too excited for, if the home is renovated rather than torn down, the deck would be a good feature to keep (though a paint job would be recommended). By the listing, it looks like the deck wraps around on three sides, and it has enough room to host an outdoor dinner in the evening or sunbathe during the day.

So while the home itself is outdated and needs a little TLC, a Sagaponack oceanfront property is hard to come by, and the land is what’s putting the price tag up to where it is. Though, it still might need to be lowered in order to incite a buyer.
