Open houses this week: The priciest Hamptons homes to check out

See which home has a 1,000-bottle wine cellar

Douglas Elliman

The Hamptons, notorious for having some of the priciest real estate known to man, is about the enter the summer season. It’s funny because, yes, technically Long Island has four seasons.

But on the East End, there are really only two seasons: summer and winter. “Summer” refers to the 15 weeks between Memorial Day and Labor Day, whereas “winter” simply refers to—well, everything else.

And while we’ve been deep into spring for quite some time now, the Hamptons’ winter season is not quite over yet. But summer is almost here, and people are always on the lookout for their perfect Hamptons home.

And since everyone likes to dream, Curbed has compiled the most expensive open houses available to see this week. Interestingly enough, they’re all hovering around the $5M-$6M price point.

While there are definitely people out there that do in fact have a budget for these homes, others just like to gush over the extravagance.

Please note that the most expensive open house available to see this week is actually 186/189 Dune Road in Quogue. However, this home was featured just last week on Curbed, in “Open houses this week: Properties with lots over 1 acre.” In the interest of new content, Curbed kept it out of this week’s open house listing.
