This week’s PriceSpotter was an East Hampton contemporary style home, located just north of the village. We asked readers what they thought the asking price of the home was, and most people—46 percent—guessed that it was asking between $750,000 and $1.25 million. With a listing price of $1,099,000 under Sotheby’s International Realty agent Caleb Kercheval, most of our readers were correct.
About 27 percent of readers guessed in the category between $1.25 million and $1.75 million. Other than that, less ten 10 votes were cast in any other category. So it looks like this listing was priced right for what’s being offered.
The home stands 1,916 square feet with three bedrooms and three full bathrooms, built in a contemporary style in 1980. The listing suggests that it could be a mother-daughter home.
Admittedly, it could use some updates. Some of our readers didn’t like the wall colors in the home, but wall color is an easy thing to change. What we like about this home is that it has the bare bones that will make updates easy. We’re fond of the hardwood floors, the double-height foyer with skylights, and the sliding glass doors that lead out to the back deck.
Located at 6 Banks Court, the home sits on a cul-de-sac just a little more than a mile north of the village. While it’s north of the highway, it’s still within biking distance of the ocean at Two Mile Hollow Beach.
It last sold in 2001 for $355,000 and was listed for sale back in 2008 for $850,000, but that listing was removed a year later.
