Sleek Amagansett modern with ocean views relists with a slight increase at $9.1M

While it isn’t the first time that this home has been on the market, the oceanview modern at 159 Atlantic Avenue in Amagansett just relisted under Bespoke Real Estate agents Cody and Zachary Vichinksy for $9.1 million. This is a slight increase from what it was most recently asking earlier this year.

What sticks out at first glance is the wall of windows off the living space. Two full walls are comprised of floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding glass doors that bring the natural light directly into the living and dining spaces, set up in an open floor plan. Notably, the staircase is (almost) literally floating, with metal rods keeping each individual stair suspended.

The main 2,300-square-foot main house has three bedrooms and five bathrooms, and is set up with an upside-down floor plan, so the bedrooms are located on the first floor and the living and dining spaces are positioned on the second level. Bates + Masi Architects chose this layout in order to maximize the views of the surrounding landscape, according to the listing.

The first level does have a common space and kitchenette which opens out to the exterior. Outside, there’s a gunite pool, outdoor kitchen, two outdoor showers, and a private deck off the master suite. Upstairs, there are European white oak floors and ceilings, privacy shades, and access to the rooftop deck.

The quarter-acre lot features an adorable 763-square-foot guest cottage in the back of the property, which has a mahogany deck, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a laundry room.

In 2014, the property sold for $3,773,000. Back in July of 2016, the newly built home first came on the market for $9.95 million, which was eventually came down to $8.95 million after several price cuts between then and September of 2017. In September, the listing was removed, and it just returned to the market this week with a slight increase from the most recent asking price.
