Open thread: Do you prefer to stay in the Hamptons for the holidays?

Or do you like going elsewhere?

With the holidays among us, most people having some time off at the end of the year—and many people use that time to spend it with family and loved ones. This year, it was reported that a record-breaking 107 million Americans will travel to celebrate the holidays rather than stay home. According to the report, travel at the end of the year has been rising for the past few years, but this is the highest that it’s been on record.

So we want to hear from our readers: What do you like to do for the holidays? If you’re a local, do you stay home, or go elsewhere? If you go elsewhere, is it to see family or to spend the season in a vacation spot?
