Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a column that explores what one can buy or rent for a certain price in the Hamptons.
While some disagree, Westhampton is most often the area that’s considered the start of the Hamptons. The real estate tends to be a big more affordable west of the canal, so a smaller budget will usually get buyers more bang for their buck. Let’s see what a $1 million budget will get you.

This is the only home we’re featuring that goes above the budget—and it’s also the smallest. With 2,200 square feet, there are four bedrooms, three full bathrooms, and one half-bathroom in the updated home. Located on just over a half-acre of land in Westhampton village, there’s a heated pool, pool house, and spa outside.
Built in 1930, the home last sold in 2010 for $988,000 and was listed back in 2012 for $1,495,000. Since then, it’s come off and on the market, but the price has come down to what it is currently.
