What $1M buys you in Westhampton

Curbed Comparisons explores what $1M will get you in Westhampton

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a column that explores what one can buy or rent for a certain price in the Hamptons.

While some disagree, Westhampton is most often the area that’s considered the start of the Hamptons. The real estate tends to be a big more affordable west of the canal, so a smaller budget will usually get buyers more bang for their buck. Let’s see what a $1 million budget will get you.

This is the only home we’re featuring that goes above the budget—and it’s also the smallest. With 2,200 square feet, there are four bedrooms, three full bathrooms, and one half-bathroom in the updated home. Located on just over a half-acre of land in Westhampton village, there’s a heated pool, pool house, and spa outside.

Built in 1930, the home last sold in 2010 for $988,000 and was listed back in 2012 for $1,495,000. Since then, it’s come off and on the market, but the price has come down to what it is currently.

Standing 2,500 square feet, this postmodern home has three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and one half-bathroom on an acre of land that borders a nature reserve. Built in 1997, interior features include an open floor plan, gourmet kitchen, high ceilings, and a fireplace. Outside, there’s a front porch, back deck, pool, and garage.

The home was listed for sale earlier this year in May for $995,000, but has since come down in asking price.

137 South Road: $865,000

At 4,033 square feet, this is the largest house featured. Built in 1991, there are five bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, a renovated eat-in kitchen, and a fireplace in the living room. Outside, one will find a heated pool, hot tub, screened-in porch, and gazebo on a half-acre.

This home came on the market back in 2015 for $999,999, but the listing was removed shortly after going up for sale. Earlier this year, the home was listed for $990,000 and has come down in price since.
