Curbed Cup, the annual virtual award for the best neighborhood of the year, is officially kicking off! This week, we’ll be calling for readers to cast their votes. Each poll will only be open for 24 hours, so make sure to get your vote in!

Hampton Bays (8)

Two years ago, Hampton Bays reigned victorious as the Curbed Cup winner, and faced off against Sag Harbor in the final round—but ultimately lost. Hampton Bays has the second largest fishing port in New York State, and is known for its plethora of restaurants and shops to spend time at. In the summer, Hampton Bays is a hot spot for nightlife.

Hampton Bays is one of the more affordable Hamptons neighborhoods, with the most expensive residential home currently for sale being under $5 million. Interestingly, the town has almost no oceanfront residential property, but it has a lot of bayfront homes. And just because there aren’t many oceanfront homes, that doesn’t mean people aren’t spending time at the Atlantic. Ponquogue Beach is constantly packed in the summer.

Amagansett (9)

While Amagansett doesn’t have as much of a village, the thing that the town does have is its ocean beaches. It’s most notably home to the Stephen Talkhouse, which Jimmy Fallon has been known to be seen at—and join the band on stage. It’s also a favorite to other celebrities escaping to the East End for privacy. Residentially speaking, Amagansett has some of the best beach houses for those who want privacy and minimalism. While there are certainly the oceanside mansions riddled with amenities, if you’re looking for a home tucked away in the dunes, Amagansett is the place to go.

Amagansett and Hampton Bays last faced off two years ago, at which time Hampton Bays beat out the hamlet by almost 100 votes. Last year, Hampton Bays went further in the bracket, but it’s a new year. Will Hampton Bays advance against Amagansett again, or will Amagansett be the one to go further?

So who should advance in this round? Each poll will only be open for 24 hours, so cast your vote!
