Last week, Curbed featured the recently listed oceanfront home at 21 Beach Lane in Wainscott—one of just seven oceanfront parcels in the hamlet. Recently, we received information that the home belongs to J. Crew’s former CEO and current chairman, Mickey Drexler.
This isn’t the first time Drexler has put his home on the market, though. The 3,500-square-foot home was listed back in 2014 for $26.5 million, then was asking $22.5 million after a year on the market, and then $21.5 million by 2016. The listing was then removed at the end of 2016, and it’s just come back on the market for the same $21.5 million asking price.
Features include an open floor plan, double-height ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, views of the ocean, wraparound decks, and a wooded boardwalk with private beach access.
Drexler started working for J. Crew in 2003 after leaving Gap. He is credited with giving the brand the upscale style it’s known for today, having previously been considered a more casual line a clothing. In June of this year, he stepped down as CEO and became the chairman.
The home is listed with Douglas Elliman agent Paul Brennan.
