Earlier this week, we asked readers to guess our PriceSpotter: a 3,200-square-foot Water Mill home on an oceanfront acre of land with views of the ocean and Mecox Bay. Built in 2007, the home has four bedrooms, three full bathrooms, wood beams throughout, and walls of windows that look out to the ocean.

Most of our readers—about 36 percent—guessed that the beach house was listed for between $12 million and $15 million. Located at 1341 Flying Point Road, the property is actually asking less than that at $11.5 million under agent Tim Davis of Corcoran Group Real Estate. Another 17 percent of readers guessed that it was asking even higher, over $15 million.

Only about 17 percent of people guessed correctly in the range between $10 million and $12 million, while another 24 percent thought that it was actually listed for lower, between $8 million and $10 million. Even fewer people thought it was going for less than $8 million, though it last sold in 2005 for $7.5 million—though, that was before the house was built.

It was listed for sale in 2015 for $13.95 million, but was removed after six months on the market. Earlier this year it went up for sale with a price cut, asking $11.5 million and it was just relisted for the same price earlier this month.
