Living in a barn doesn’t always sound like the most glamorous atmosphere, but a repurposed barn from 1880 on a four-acre compound in Sagaponack is making us reconsider.
Located at 544 Hedges Lane, the four-acre property sits south of the highway and features a main house, a barn-style pool house, a two-car garage with studio space, and a separate office or artist’s studio.
The whole compound will cost $15,995,000, but this isn’t the first time that the property has been on the market. It was listed for a whopping $22.5 million back in 2015, but was removed after a few months. It then went back up for sale in 2016 for $17.95 million, and cut its price before relisting last week under with Sotheby’s International Realty agents Beate Moore and Frank Newbold.
The 137-year-old barn has 4,000 square feet of living space, three bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms, high ceilings, antique hewn beams, a brick floor, and a vaulted master suite with a fireplace and private balcony.
In the renovated guest house, one will find six ensuite bedrooms—which means you could definitely host a lot of guests. The barn-style pool house features a gym and a wall of windows that looks out to the grounds.
Around the private, hedge-lined property, one will find a heated pool, spa, sunken tennis court, a wisteria-covered dining space, an orchard, and even a lily pond with a bridge.
