Last week, Curbed asked readers what they thought this 7,000-square-foot newly constructed modern in Bridgehampton was priced at, listed under Douglas Elliman agent Lynda Packard.

Located at 2138 Scuttle Hole Road, the property last sold in 2012 for $1.15 million. The home that currently stands was then listed for $6.7 million in August of 2014, but the listing was removed after about a month on the market.

Then, in June of 2016, the home was relisted under the same $6.7 million asking price, but came down in January of this year to $5,995,000. Recently, the property was relisted with a slightly lower $5.75 million price tag.

The highest poll categories were tied. Most people guessed the correct range of between $5 million and $6 million, but the same amount of readers—23 percent—also guessed that the home was asking over $8 million.

Close behind that, 23 percent of readers thought it was asking between $6 million and $8 million. About 17 percent of people guessed it was asking between $3 million and $5 million, and only 4 percent thought it was under $3 million.

It’s interesting that the same amount of people guessed the correct range and the highest range of over $8 million. We might think that this could mean the agent could bump the price tag and that the asking price might be too low, especially considering Zillow estimates the price to be around $6.5 million. However, given the price sat at $6.7 million in the past, we don’t see a raise in asking price happening any time soon.

The 7,000-square-foot home has seven bedrooms, eight full bathrooms, one half bathroom, a private living room and kitchenette on each floor of the home, retractable sliding walls of glass that lead outdoors, a wine cellar, gym, and three-car garage. The three-acre flag lot property can also accommodate a tennis court.
