After more than two years up for sale under Sotheby’s International Realty agent Harald Grant, the estate at 86 Bay Lane in Water Mill has found a buyer. In March of 2015, the home was asking $29.95 million, but that price came down after seven months on the market, putting it at $24.95 million.
Most recently, an additional $4 million was cut from the asking price, making the most recent listing at $20.5 million, which is the price that the contract was signed under.
Before it was listed in 2015, the home was available for sale in July of 2014 for $27.5 million, but the listing was removed in November of the same year. When it was relisted just five months later, it had a bit of an increase in asking price.
Designed by architect Robert A.M. Stern in 1986, this 6,100-square-foot home has seven bedrooms, five full bathrooms, two half-bathrooms, a double-height entry hall, built-in bar in the living room, and an office that occupies a cupola. Outside, there is a heated gunite pool, all-weather tennis court, guest cottage, gardens, a covered outdoor dining patio, a two-car garage, a gazebo, and a private dock on Mecox Bay.
The home sits on 4.6 acres of land two miles from the ocean at Ocean Road in Bridgehampton, and two and a half miles from Water Mill town shops.
