What $4M buys you in North Sea

Curbed Comparisons takes a look at northern Southampton

Douglas Elliman

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a column that explores what one can buy or rent in the Hamptons for a certain price.

North Sea is a northern neighborhood of Southampton, about a 10-minute drive from the village. It’s the area that the Kardashians famously stayed in during their time on the East End while filming Kourtney & Khloé Take the Hamptons.

378 Water Mill Towd Road: $3,999,000

The most expensive home we’re featuring is just under the $4 million budget. Built in 2008, there is 7,000 square feet of living space with six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. Inside, there are cathedral ceilings, a breakfast area with fireplace off the kitchen, a two-car garage, and master bedroom suite with two bathrooms. Plus, there’s an elevator that services all three levels.

Outside, there’s a heated pool, storage cabana, stone patios (both covered and open), and an outdoor shower on almost five acres of land. The property last sold in 2004 for $1.45 million, and listed in September for the price that it’s at right now.

178 Edge of Woods Road: $3,795,000

The largest home that we’re showing today is a 9,300-square-foot estate that was built in 2005. The home has six bedrooms and eight and a half bathrooms in two stories, sitting on 1.7 acres of land. There’s also room for tennis on the property. An elevator services the home.

Outside, the home features a covered mahogany porch, heated gunite pool, spa, and a pool house with a wet bar, fireplace, and full bathroom.

Built in 2005, the home was previously listed for sale in 2009 for $4.45 million, and was asking that price until the listing was removed in 2012. In July of 2016, the home came back on the market and hasn’t changed its asking price since.

103 Edgemere Drive: $3,500,000

The smallest house here is 2,800 square feet in size on just under a full acre of land—but it’s also the only waterfront home that we’re featuring. The house has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and even an enclosed sun porch—and it’s been newly renovated to update the original 1994 construction.

Outside, the property has 80 feet of bulkheading and room for a pool—but according to the listing, the permits for a pool haven’t been granted quite yet.
