The 107-year old manse at 500 Captains Neck Lane in Southampton went on the market back in July for $27.9 million under Sotheby’s International Realty agents Molly Ferrer and Ritchey Howe. But this isn’t the first time that the home was listed for sale.
Last year, the home was listed in March of 2016 for $35 million—but it wasn’t available for very long. At the time, the home was only listed for about a month before being removed. After a decrease in price and a return to the sales market, the home was only available for three months before a contract was signed earlier this week.
The massive 13,000-square-foot estate sits on 6.6 acres of land with 404 feet of direct water frontage on Taylor Creek. One can navigate through Taylor Creek to Shinnecock Bay and the ocean, as well as keep their boat on a private boat dock that comes with the property.
Between the main house and the attached cottages, there are 11 bedrooms, 10 full bathrooms, and three half-bathrooms. In the master suite, one will find a fireplace, sitting area, French doors, and a balcony with water views. Outside, there’s a heated pool, pool house, and room for tennis.
In 2006, the nearby waterfront home at 509 Captains Neck Lane sold for $26 million. That home, built in 1994, has around 8,000 square feet of living space with 10 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms on almost nine acres of land.
