Earlier this week on PriceSpotter, we asked readers to guess the asking price of an updated ’60s smart home in Hampton Bays with a private beach. Most of our readers—about 42 percent—guessed the home was asking between $3 million and $5 million. One commenter mentioned that while he doesn’t “know the market very well,” he took a guess at $4.25 million.

However, the asking price on this 2,700-square-foot home is $2,395,000, meaning most of our readers guessed that the asking price was higher than it is.

About 38 percent of our readers guessed it was under $3 million, while some people even thought it was over $5 million. Six percent of readers guessed it was as high as $7 million.

Located at 7 Nautilus Court in Hampton Bays, the home has views of Shinnecock Bay, Dune Road, and the Ponquogue Bridge. There are five bedrooms and three bathroom in the home, situated on an 0.41-acre lot.

It’s located on Wells Creek, where the homeowner will have their own private beach and boat slip. The home has recently been updated on both the exterior and interior. Outside, there is a covered lounge area, elevated deck with glass railings, and panoramic water views.

The home last sold earlier this year for $1.15 million and doubled in asking price after the renovations. The current asking price is $2,395,000 under Douglas Elliman listing agents Joseph Savio and John Gurwicz.
